The official launch of the project was initiated together with the project committee and representatives of the Research Association for Mechanical Engineering (FKM) and the Rheinische Hochschule Köln (RFH).
The project brings together a broad-based group from industry and research.
The InSituHeat3D project aims to make targeted use of the heat build-up that occurs during the additive manufacturing process to enable the processing of difficult-to-process tool steels using the PBF-LB/M process. Optimized thermal process control will prevent defects in the component, specifically influence microstructural properties, and open up new application potential.
We are delighted with the successful launch of the project and look forward to productive collaboration within the framework of InSituHeat3D.
