The LWT participated in the 832nd Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Seminar "Synergistic Mechanisms in Displacive Phase Transitions: From Charge Density Wave Systems to Engineering Materials" from 27 Apr to 30 Apr 2025 at the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef. Prof Weber gave an invited talk on the role of phase stability and martensite formation on hydrogen embrittlement of austenitic steels. Dr. Benito won the best poster award together with Dr Vinayakumar for the contribution titled "Unravelling the oxygen evolution reaction using martensitic and austenitic NiTi shape memory alloy plate anodes".

The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation is a private institution that supports scientific research and education with an emphasis on physics. The foundation is best known for organizing and funding a variety of events dedicated to the discussion of research results and the training of young scientists. The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Seminar is the most important and oldest funding activity of the foundation.
