After A-levels, Hendrik and Mila decided to do a Voluntary Scientific Year at the Chair of Materials Engineering. Since October 2024, they have been separating, grinding and polishing samples, carrying out corrosion tests in sodium chloride solutions or undiluted sulphuric acid, measuring the nitrogen content of metal powders and measuring microstructures using an optical microscope. You will attend lectures of your choice and can thus gain a comprehensive picture of various courses of study and, in particular, of the field of materials engineering. We wish Mila and Hendrik lots of fun at the LWT.
