Formnext 2025 in Frankfurt once again provided a central platform for the latest developments in additive manufacturing this year. For LWT, this topic area—together with powder metallurgy—is one of its core competencies.
We visited the trade fair together to exchange ideas with experts from industry and research, discuss current trends, and follow developments in the field of AM process technologies and powder metallurgical material systems.
A key focus of our visit to the trade fair was to actively approach manufacturers and technology providers with innovative alloy concepts developed specifically for additive manufacturing. The application-specific adaptation of alloys in particular offers great potential for further increasing process stability, component quality, and performance in the future.
Formnext 2025 has once again demonstrated how dynamically the field is developing—and how important close exchange between science and industry remains. We look forward to the next steps in our research with many new ideas.
