The Calphad conference was held in Mannheim, Germany, from May 27 to 31. Santiago Benito, group leader at LWT, was represented with a contribution on "Calphad-based description of microstructure inhomogeneities". Over five days, 81 plenary talks covered topics ranging from the thermodynamic assessment of new material systems to applications in the field of materials design.
