With the new glow discharge spectrometer GDA 650HR, it has been possible for the first time to measure depth-resolved quantitative measurements of the nitrogen content on low-temperature plasma-nitrided surfaces of corrosion-resistant steels
With the new glow discharge spectrometer GDA 650HR, it has been possible for the first time to make depth-resolved quantitative measurements of the nitrogen content on low-temperature plasma-nitrided surfaces of corrosion-resistant steels. An influence of the diffusing nitrogen on the redistribution of the already contained carbon could also be demonstrated and now allows to better understand both the process and the resulting material properties.
